Cleanup

Temporary file and cache cleanup covering temp files, log files, the Prefetch folder, and the recycle bin, plus Windows' own Disk Cleanup. Run it periodically. This is housekeeping, not a performance tweak.

What each action does

Every row on this tab is a one-shot action rather than a toggle: click it, it runs, and there's nothing to revert.

• Windows Clean Manager launches the built-in Windows Disk Cleanup utility.
• Clear Prefetched Files clears the Windows Prefetch folder. Contents rebuild automatically as apps are used if SysMain is enabled.
• Clear Temporary Files deletes the contents of %TEMP% and C:\Windows\Temp.
• Clear Log Files deletes accumulated Windows event and service log files.
• Empty Recycle Bin silently empties the Recycle Bin on every drive.

Good to know

• Prefetch only rebuilds itself while SysMain is running. If you've disabled SysMain on the Advanced tab, clearing it is still harmless, it just stays empty.
• Reclaiming several GB in one go? Disable Hibernation on the Power tab deletes hiberfil.sys, which is usually far larger than anything here.
• Emptying the Recycle Bin is permanent. Check it first if you're not sure what's in there.
